Lee Alexander McQueen taught me to embrace a side of myself I had otherwise been instructed to suppress as a proper young woman. I have learned to embrace what I think is beautiful despite what others may think. He has taught me to be myself, to create from the very depths of my soul, and most importantly to be unafraid. I have used him as a reference, a muse, and a motivation in every medium I've worked with. Every artist has their influences. McQueen was THE influence for me. I'm truly devastated. There was so much beauty left to be had in the world. He'll be missed, this much is true.
